The path to the future
Embracing responsibility. Shaping the future.
LOCATIONS OF MESSE MÜNCHEN
All Messe München locations —the Trade Fair Center Messe München, the ICM—International Congress Center Messe München, the CCN—Conference Center North, and the MOC—Event Center Messe München—are implementing measures ranging from a photovoltaic roof system to e-charging stations to shape the future of LOCATIONS OF MESSE MÜNCHEN.

Energy supply and resource use
The exhibition grounds in the east of Munich have one of the world's largest photovoltaic roof systems. At the beginning of 2020, Messe München switched to using renewable green electricity. The new exhibition halls C5 and C6, as well as the CCN — Conference Center North Messe München, are heated exclusively by remote heating, most of which is generated from geothermal energy. Messe München is currently planning to gradually switch its heat supply to CO₂-neutral sources. As part of a feasibility study, Messe München is currently examining which renewable energy sources are suitable for the gradual conversion of the heat supply.
The site comprises 73,000 m² of green hall roofs and around 220,000 m² of green space with more than 2,500 trees. A landscaped lake, fed by rainwater and groundwater, further improves the microclimate—a specific area influenced by local factors such as buildings, plant growth, soil conditions, and bodies of water—and is part of Messe München GmbH's integrated land and building concept.
Mobility and infrastructure
To date, the locations have 171 electric charging stations—most recently, 18 more were added to our visitor parking lot—and excellent public transportation connections with two subway lines and additional bus connections.
Circular economy and catering
The Tork PaperCircle® program enables the recycling of paper products. Paper towels from sanitary facilities are collected separately and returned to Tork, which puts them back into circulation. This is therefore a separate stream of recyclable materials.
In terms of catering, our partners Käfer and Able rely on reusable systems such as Rebowl and Recup, as well as regional and seasonal dishes with vegetarian and vegan options.
MOC – Event Center Messe München
Efficient energy supply and utilization of the grounds
At the MOC, over 60% of the electricity consumed comes from renewable sources supplied by Stadtwerke München. LED lighting in corridors, foyers, and delivery areas further reduces energy consumption. Heat is supplied via remote heating from combined heat and power generation.
The site has 1,400 m² of green space and four electric charging stations in the underground parking garages.
Accessibility and visitor guidance
The MOC is very well connected to public transportation via two subway stations and a bus stop.
Eighty-five permanently installed traffic signs help visitors find their way around the city.
Services
Modular and reusable booth construction systems such as the woodï.system from our subsidiary meplan, which is ISO 20121:2024 certified, are available for temporary use. Together with meplan, our customers can collaborate and create innovative results for trade fairs and booths. In addition, the components are stored at Messe München to ensure short transport distances (e-transporters and e-forklifts). The LOCATIONS DER MESSE MÜNCHEN team is happy to support customers in this regard.
